The first warning bell that should ring in a student's mind when realizing they are facing an incompetent impostor of a teacher, has to do with the vocabulary.

The incompetent Yoga teachers pepper their “classes” with Sanskrit buzzwords linked to new age ‘self-love’—a mix of kundalinihamsapatanjalichakra, to hide their physical and technical inadequacy.

A truly competent teacher doesn’t need to do that. They might occasionally mention something naturally, without any moralizing.

A human being who possesses depth and awareness conveys it in any area and isn’t trapped in the false belief that there are 'spiritual' activities and 'non-spiritual' ones. What they naturally are comes out through a yoga class just as much as through a cooking or crochet course. The manifestation of their essence isn’t even intentional; it’s part of what naturally radiates, like a flower spreading its fragrance. They’re not looking for praise, they’re not trying to flatter or please.
