Focusing on yourself has nothing to do with altruism or selfishness.

The only true and authentic revolution is an inner one. In history, there isn’t a single “social” revolution that has led to anything broadly good; it has only resulted in the end of one ideology in favor of another, tied to simply different interests.

Those who understand themselves and break free from automatic behavior change the whole world, significantly impacting the quality of life of everyone around them.

Those who devote themselves to distant causes they know nothing about firsthand end up in the propaganda machine, judging the world and others through an ideology without doing anything good for themselves or anyone else. They’re not selfish or evil, just ignorant.

Focusing on oneself means becoming a representative of the world you would like to see. Doing so won’t stop all suffering or change the world’s fate, which depends on forces beyond us, but through a leap in consciousness, you’ll end up living in a new world and leading a fulfilling life.

The existential contribution of someone who understands is like seeds that will give rise to another Era, a rebirth they probably won’t witness as a “person,” but will be present without really being there.
