“Recovering the past to run towards the future, fully living the present.” by Marco M.

Recovering the past to run towards the future, fully living the present.
My knowledge of Heidegger is indirect, that is, through his interpreters and commentators. I find his books cryptic and at times incomprehensible, at least given my limited abilities. One of the cornerstones of his cyclical cosmological vision is that, faced with the desire to “save” or “return” to something that is “past”, the only thing to do is to run forward faster.

Today more than ever we need to recover the sense of the sacred, mystery, inner silence, the state of respectful wonder in the face of nature. The means we use for this journey are both new and very ancient. The repetition of ancient magic formulas (prayer), the recovery of rituals, the use of natural substances able to push you into an altered state of consciousness, in order to glimpse what lies beyond. All this is not in order to go back or to live lamenting what was and cannot be. I am a child of my time and I love it, despite its spiritual emptiness but also because of it. “Because” since, a little like Battiato said, the “nothingness” of my time “pushes me to be better with more willpower”.

Recovering important pieces of our past is essential to foster a rebirth that we will not see but that is also ours. We have the honour of having been born in the Kali Yuga. Those who try to fight and hold back this cyclical process are destined to succumb, so let us look ahead and recover what is necessary for a new Satya Yuga that we will not see directly, but that is already within us.
