"Reconnecting with the sacred" - Marco M.
Reconnecting with the sacred.
Every day I wonder how I can contribute to what, as far as I am concerned, is the primary need of people today.
Everything has become so taken for granted, and as a result, it has lost its brilliance, that few truly understand how necessary it is to cultivate a fulfilling life by realizing that nothing is guaranteed, that we should be grateful for every breath, for every color, for every taste, and, in general, for every experience that life gives us.
I can suggest cultivating prayer and meditation, but not aimed at detachment; rather, to perceive the forces that overwhelm us and are beyond our understanding, yet for which we must be thankful. Reading a few lines from a book by Giovanni Lindo Ferretti, the singer of CSI, now returned to an awareness of the presence of God, could be, for example, an excellent way to spend time with family and cultivate a sense of shared prayer. What was once done before every meal or before going to sleep was not a useless ritual for medieval enthusiasts, but something we should relearn.
Having rituals, lighting a fire, which by its nature represents supernatural forces. Pausing at different moments during the day, closing your eyes and being grateful.
These are suggestions. One can find their own ways, but it is a serious sin against oneself not to try. As far as I am concerned, I will find paths that can be shared with those who wish to participate.
