"Hypocritical pacifism" - Marco M.

Hypocritical pacifism

Those who call themselves pacifists are mostly hypocrites who sell their limitations as if they were a free choice. The only authentic pacifism is that of those who are capable of violence but consciously choose to dedicate themselves to balance and the pursuit of peace. As Sun Tzu wrote in one of the greatest Taoist and authentically pacifist texts, "If you want peace, you must prepare for war."

Preparing for war involves training, preparation, strengthening the muscles of the mind, and above all, having a clear idea of perimeters and boundaries. The border is an inner place, a fixed point, where one cannot retreat unless "others" understand it as non-negotiable, a border one is willing to do anything to protect. Only in this way can peace be preserved, that is, by earning the fear and respect of those who would otherwise "walk all over you."

A true warrior always desires only peace; he does not revel in violence, which nevertheless remains an option.
