Alchemical paths

The human journey of being reborn to oneself can be summed up in the alchemical formula V.I.T.R.I.O.L. (Visita Interiora Terrae, Rectificando Invenies Ocultum Lapidem - trans: Visit the interior of the earth and, by rectifying, you will find the hidden stone.).

Only by dying to ourselves is it possible to be reborn as a new and authentic being. This journey cannot be bought at any travel agency. There are no courses that will take you through it, and no teachers who can make it in your place or drag you along. You need to cultivate a detachment (Askesis) from the world, set out on a journey within yourself with no discounts, be willing to lose everything and not look for any outward recognition. The only quality required is a love of effort and sacrifice, which for the writer are not part of the problem but part of the wonder of life.

What I am speaking of is the transformative journey of one's inner lead into the gold of the spirit.
