What we are and what we leave as a legacy

I imagine what we are as a mixture of a past heritage: our ancestors, cultural and racial family heritage; and what we then absorb after birth is obviously strongly influenced by the choices we make. The whole thing held together by a magical aura that perhaps could be defined as soul. The life that unfortunately, more and more often unconsciously or, in some cases, consciously we decide to live is part of the legacy we will leave to  who or what comes after us. What will come after us is not something we're able to know. Some ignorant, self-centered people, today think that they can save or destroy the world, while the world will eventually get rid of us when the time comes to give birth to different forms and other existences that will somehow be connected to us but may not be "human."

All of this to say that we are part of an immortal soul and we have the duty and responsibility to leave behind the best that we can. We are not isolated monads as many believe now; the rampant narcissism makes no sense. We are part of the universal soul and should behave accordingly to our purpose.
