“Servant of God and not a slave of myself” - Marco M.
Servant of God and not a slave of myself
The authentic Being is not enslaved by its own ego, passions, or dreams that become desires, yet neither does it seek to suppress them entirely. Authenticity, not to be confused with instinct, moves the being not against its will, but beyond it. One is moved by something that only silence is capable of awakening. The words one speaks are one’s own, yet at the same time they seem to come from an entity that transcends us.
This entity can be called by an infinite number of different names: God, Allah, Wu Wei, Wakan Tanka, Shiva, yet it is always the spirit of the world moving through space, within and outside each of us, like a melody that resonates unceasingly even when no one is listening.
There is no need for formulas or prescriptions. No laws or commandments are required; the one who listens and observes oneself knows when one is lost within the self and when, instead, one is partaking in the word of God.
