"I teach Spirituality" - Marco M.
I teach Spirituality
I happened to hear this sentence that honestly sent chills down my spine. An instructor/teacher teaches and supports students educationally through the acquisition of techniques. These techniques can involve how to play an instrument, how to perform a yoga asana, how to kick in kickboxing. Of course, the examples are endless.
What is spiritual cannot be taught, it is not a technique. I have observed, with dismay, teachers who believe that having people sit silently, doing a breathing exercise, or making them stay still looking into the eyes of a person in front is 'teaching spirituality' or, in another cool way to say it, 'inner practice'.
What is spiritual is like the fragrance of a flower. It cannot be taught, but it emanates spontaneously. A person's charisma has nothing to do with what they teach or do not teach, but is like an energy that, once released, can be perceived in any action that person takes, precisely because it has nothing to do with 'doing' but only and exclusively with 'being'.
The spirituality market is indeed a market where the blind proclaim themselves as guides for other blind people. However, it is only a market where the blind who sell manage to do so only because there is a lack of sensitivity in those who buy, to understand that the 'blind guides' do not know where to go; they are not in the throes of the suffering they claim to heal, but are, at best, just excellent salespeople.
