To know oneself is an art that needs cultivating moment by moment.
It is actually trivial for a Yoga school to claim that it is important to know oneself. It is not, mainly because no one or very few have both the desire and the discipline required to know one self or at least to try.
To know oneself is an art that needs cultivating moment by moment. You should ask yourself : "Why did I say this? Why did I do that? Why is my mind processing this specific thought? "And other similar things. Above all, we should be able, or at least try to learn, to constantly question ourselves, we should not to take our ideas for granted rather to understand where they come from, because they always come from somewhere, they are not "our own".
All this and much more, produce a constant change: not one but a thousand epiphanies will pull the rug out from under your feet, because you know that anything that appears in a certain way, could well be in another. You know that everything you think about yourself could be false, as well as every idea, every thought, and every belief on which you are basing your life. Very few are ready to go through this, are you?
