In the space between the words, in the clear vastness, in the pauses of action and noise, in the eternal present, in the sweet silence…

I know words are beautiful. I know that the poetic flow of syllables and sounds can create different emotions and meanings. I know that understanding can be reached and conflicts can be solved with the questions, answers, and discussions formed by words. I know that laughter can be instilled by playing around with different expressions, tones, and the perfect timing of words. I know these things to be true. I love to be in these places, to experience these moments of word play, creating and listening, again and again, letting them come and go, ever-flowing and ever-changing.

However, in the space between the words, in the clear vastness, in the pauses of action and noise, in the eternal present, in the sweet silence… there is something more. There is the soft yet strong gaze, holding and speaking a thousand thoughts and emotions yet expecting and demanding nothing. There is the touch that gives comfort, a sense of safety, guiding without force, without an end point - just letting you know that it’s there for and with you. There is the breeze rustling the trees, kissing your face, putting it’s fingers through your hair. There is the warmth of another being next to you, transmitting tenderness through their skin and calmness through their breath. There is the sky with it’s billions of stars just being magnificent and surreal without effort. These moments, to me, are more precious, more enduring; where there is the engulfing and adoring sound of silence, where forever lies, in the sweet absence of words.
